Garlock Gylon® EPIX™

GYLON EPIX is a new family of PTFE gasket materials that improves the established Gylon® 3500(Fawn), 3504 (Blue), and 3510 (Off-White) product lines. It uses a patented hexagonal, patented surface pattern that combines optimum conformability and sealability. 1/8” (3.2 mm) gaskets can provide more conformability, especially on worn and pitted flanges. While thinner 1/16” gaskets allow for a tighter seal and better load retention properties. GYLON EPIX uses its unique surface profile to provide the best of both worlds. The raised hexagonal allows for more recovery and compressibility. It also reduces the contact area during initial compression to concentrate the compressive force of the flange for improved sealability. GYLON EPIX comes in only one thickness, 3/32”, but can work in place of either 1/16” or 1/8”, so you only need to stock one thickness instead of two.
